Description

This dramatic saree is an Art Silk rendition of the traditional Patola silk weave, delivering the complex, detailed look of the ikat design in a more practical and accessible fabric. The body of the saree features a striking black base, patterned with repeating geometric diamond lattices (buttas) in contrasting yellow and red Patola print. The saree is defined by a distinct contrast panel (likely the pallu) in a deep brick red or terracotta hue. This red section is richly adorned with vertical stripes of traditional Patola motifs, prominently featuring stylized elephants (Hathi) in white, black, and yellow. The entire design is framed by a subtle border featuring a narrow gold zari edge and a printed Patola band with elephant motifs, effectively mimicking the richness of a double ikat silk saree.
